Music at Pembroke College, Cambridge
The Choirs of Pembroke College, Cambridge
With some of the most exciting and varied ranges of choral endeavours among Oxbridge choirs, and with a particular love of contemporary choral music, the Choirs enjoy popular collaborations, media appearances and outreach work alongside the primary responsibility of contributing to worship in the college's chapel.
Choral Services
The Chapel Choir sings three services per week during term - Eucharist (10:15am) and Evensong (6pm) on Sundays and Compline on Wednesdays (9:30pm) - while the Girls' Choir sings Evensong on Wednesdays (6:15pm).
Members of the public are welcome; find the service schedule for this term below.
The Girls' Choir
The Pembroke College Girls' Choir launched in September 2018 and brings together girls between the ages of 11-18 from schools around Cambridge, helping them experience life as a chorister in a Cambridge College.
The Choir focuses on musical excellence, performing at a professional level on a weekly basis alongside regular concerts and tours.
Recording
The Choirs are thrilled to be signed to Signum Records, with their debut album "All Things Are Quite Silent" released in September 2020 to critical acclaim, and with further recordings to come. More details about our recording work, and information about future releases can be found on our Releases page.
Alongside the more traditional repertoire of a chapel choir, Pembroke enjoys a special focus on contemporary choral music and views the popularisation and appreciation of contemporary composers as an important part of its mission.
